First Post

Hi Everyone,
Well, this is the blog that Angela and I will set up so that you can see the construction of our house. It'll be pretty bare-bones and boring, and mainly I'll just put pictures up so my family can see the progress (this was their idea). In any case, if you print out the successive pictures over the next few months, you'll get a sweet-ass time-lapse flip book, and you'll be able to watch our house being built from the ground up in a matter of seconds!
Enjoy.
Ryan
Here is the first picture of our construction. Guys digging. That was pretty much the underlying theme for Week 1.

Angela talking to Harvey, one of the builders. He's also staying at the little house to the left to act as a guard and make sure no one steals our shit. Harvey's a nice guy.

Monday, March 24, 2008. Here is the first picture to print out and put in your flip-book. It shows, once again, the guys digging the ditches for the foundation.

Wednesday, March 26, 2008. Digging ditches is slow work, especially if the diggers are old guys who smoke a lot. They need lots of breaks to get air. But they're both really nice, and the contractor says they're good guys, so we don't bust their balls. Plus, our contractor has to get us our finished house in a certain number of weeks, and if he doesn't, he starts having to pay us. Angela worked out some good deals on the contract, as you can see.

Saturday, March 29,2008. Here is the lot today. Many of the ditches are dug, and the steel to reinforce the concrete has been getting prepared in the back.
